Alleged rape case involving YouTuber Rajab Butt stalls in Lahore court

The alleged rape case involving YouTuber Rajab Butt and others was heard in the Lahore Sessions Court on Wednesday. The accused, including Jawad Ali and Abdul Rehman, appeared before Additional Sessions Judge Yasir Arafat.

No indictment was framed during the hearing, leading to an adjournment of the matter until May 11. This decision is expected to be announced at that time.

The case stems from a complaint registered on June 10, 2025, alleging that the complainant, a female social media activist, was raped after consuming an intoxicating drink in Bahria Orchard.

However, during proceedings on June 24, 2025, the investigating officer submitted a statement claiming that allegations against Rajab Butt and two other accused were baseless. The police maintained that all accused were found innocent during the investigation.
