Group Captain (Retd) Cecil Chaudhry’s Fourteenth Death Anniversary Observed

Born August 27, 1941, Group Captain Cecil Chaudhry was a fighter pilot in Pakistan Air Force (PAF) who made significant contributions during the 1965 war. He shot down three Indian planes and earned the Sitara-e-Jurat for his bravery.

During the 1971 conflict, he served at Sargodha Air Base and flew 14 more missions despite sustaining injuries from a fire that caused him to eject with a parachute. He was awarded the Sitara-e-Basalat for these efforts.

In 1978, Chaudhry became military attaché at the Pakistani Embassy in Britain and later trained Iraqi Airmen during his deputation to Iraq in 1979. His contributions were recognized by Iraq’s highest non-military award.

Retiring from PAF in 1986, Chaudhry continued serving in education sector until his death on April 13, 2012, due to lung cancer in Lahore. His legacy remains a symbol of patriotism and dedication to the defense of Pakistan.
