Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Arrests 16 Terrorists in Punjab
The CTD has arrested 16 terrorists, including a suicide bomber linked to Fitna al Khawarij, during intelligence-based operations conducted across multiple cities.
In Jhang, the arrest of Ghazi Marjan, identified as a suicide bomber, was made along with explosive materials and a suicide jacket. In Sargodha, Maley Khan was also apprehended for alleged involvement in attacks on sensitive installations.
The arrested suspects had planned to target police check posts but their plans were thwarted by timely action from authorities. Explosive materials, suicide vests, detonators, extremist literature, and cash were recovered from the suspects.
The CTD carried out 2,830 combing operations during the week, questioning 95,755 individuals and detaining 190 suspects. Officials reaffirmed that operations against terrorism will continue across Punjab without interruption.
