
Lahore, 28 January 2026: Five players, including Pakistan’s T20I captain Salman Ali Agha and Sahibzada Farhan, have been promoted to the Platinum category. The Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed these category renewals for the HBL Pakistan Super League’s 11th edition, which includes 89 local players.
Going forward, each franchise may retain a maximum of four players across categories. Following team retention procedures, the first-ever HBL PSL Player Auction will finalize their rosters on Wednesday, February 11.
Among those promoted to Platinum, only Sahibzada was previously in the Gold category, while others jumped from the Diamond category.
Shadab Khan and Naseem Shah remained in the Platinum category after featuring in the HBL PSL X. Imad Wasim, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Babar Azam, Saim Ayub, Mohammad Rizwan, Faheem Ashraf, and Mohammad Amir were also in this tier.
A total of 11 players are currently in the Diamond category, with three each from Quetta Gladiators and Multan Sultans. Two players each represent Lahore Qalandars, Karachi Kings, Peshawar Zalmi, and Islamabad United, while none appear for the latter.
Among this year’s Gold category, four players come from Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars, eight are from Karachi Kings, six from Peshawar Zalmi, five each represent Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators. The Emerging category comprises 14 players: three each for Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Peshawar Zalmi, two for Quetta Gladiators and Multan Sultans, and one for Lahore Qalandars.
Hunain Shah, Ubaid Shah, Mirza Mamoon Imtiaz, Mohammad Naeem, and Mohammad Azab moved up from the Emerging category to Silver. Hasan Nawaz rose to Gold after being in the HBL PSL X in Emerging status this season.
