Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) expressed strong displeasure on Wednesday when a citizen alleged misconduct by members of the legal profession. He stated, “The courtroom is not a marketplace” and warned the individual not to make any further statements against lawyers.

During a hearing regarding a land dispute, the court questioned the petitioner about his legal representation. The petitioner claimed he had no lawyer, asserting that lawyers often aligned with their opponents despite receiving significant fees.

Justice Kayani reprimanded the petitioner for making such unfounded allegations and advised him to address any complaints through the relevant Bar Council. He emphasized that all claims should be supported by evidence and formally submitted to the council if necessary.
