In Punjab, the government is fortifying its defenses against potential threats with the establishment of Anti-Drone Units in every district. This initiative underscores a concerted effort to bolster aerial surveillance and public safety across the province.

Under the leadership of each district’s District Police Officer (DPO), these units will be supported by advanced Anti-Drone Systems, equipped with state-of-the-art jammers capable of neutralizing malicious drones. These measures are part of broader security enhancements aimed at safeguarding public spaces and infrastructure.

Additionally, to mitigate concerns over drone use, the Punjab authorities have already enforced Section 144, prohibiting outdoor operations of drones except in specific authorized contexts. By extension, the general populace has been prohibited from using drones due to potential risks to security and safety.

Despite this restriction, law enforcement agencies and intelligence units are exempted from these restrictions to maintain operational effectiveness and ensure they can perform their duties efficiently without hindrance. The move aims not only at deterring drone threats but also in fostering a balanced approach that respects public safety and privacy concerns, while safeguarding the homeland against potential risks.

This strategic deployment of Anti-Drone Units and Systems represents a significant step towards bolstering security protocols across Punjab’s diverse landscape.
