Bushra Bibi, wife of former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, has been returned to Adiala Jail following her recent eye surgery. The operation was performed due to a diagnosed retinal detachment in her right eye.

The jail administration confirmed that she had complained about impaired vision before being examined by ophthalmologists who recommended the surgical procedure. Post-surgery, Bushra Bibi stayed one night at a private hospital before returning to custody.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has called for timely diagnosis and adequate medical care for Bushra Bibi, emphasizing that such access is a “basic right according to law.” He also stressed the need for family members’ visits to their detained loved ones.

Bushra Bibi’s condition was previously reported as having blurred vision and headaches, with social media posts suggesting she had been diagnosed with posterior vitreous detachment (PVD), myopia, and astigmatism. She is currently serving a seven-year sentence in the corruption case and a 17-year sentence for Toshakhana 2.

International concerns have also been raised about her detention conditions, including a UN expert warning of potential risks to her physical and mental health.
