In Pakistan, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif highlighted an alarming development: Indian proxy forces are using Afghan soil to launch terror attacks within Pakistani borders. Speaking at a National Assembly session on Monday, he underscored that unity is the most potent antidote against terrorism and its eradication from Pakistani soil.

Asif’s comments came as Pakistan’s parliament condemned the recent mosque attack in Islamabad, where 33 people lost their lives in a suicide bombing carried out by Yasir, son of Bahadur Khan. The resolution demanded justice for those responsible, emphasizing that extremism has no place in Pakistan and must be confronted by state action.

Asif also addressed internal challenges within the country, urging lawmakers to resolve these disputes through dialogue on the floor of Parliament. Meanwhile, opposition leaders Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Asad Qaisar, and Raja Pervaiz Ashraf participated in the session as well.

The minister further highlighted the armed forces’ sacrifices, commending their dedication while also pressing for acknowledgment and respect. These contributions are crucial steps in combating terrorism’s insidious tendrils.

Asif stressed that internal conflicts should be addressed constructively within the political framework of the nation. The resolution’s passage underscores Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining a peaceful environment where citizens can live free from fear and violence, affirming their right to life and property under its protection.

In essence, this session reaffirms Pakistan’s resolve in combating terrorism, fostering unity, and upholding justice for all those affected by its malign influence.
