Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi convened a high-level meeting on Tuesday to review preparations for Ramazan, the holy month of fasting. He emphasized that authorities must ensure maximum relief to the public during this period.

Afridi highlighted the necessity of having essential food items available at officially notified rates and insisted on the enforcement of effective price control mechanisms. His directive was clear: an Ehsaas Ramazan Dastarkhwan, a community pantry, should be established in every district with special emphasis placed upon key entry points across the province.

Additionally, he ordered that quality Sehri (pre-dawn meal) and Iftar (evening meal) meals be provided at orphanages Darul Aman and shelter homes. This initiative was part of the Ehsaas Ramazan Package, a welfare scheme aimed at assisting underprivileged communities during Ramadan.

Central to this plan was the payment of Rs12,500 to deserving families who were prioritized for orphans, widows, the poor, and individuals with disabilities. The chief minister emphasized that these payments should be completed by the eighth day of fasting, underscoring his commitment to easing financial burdens during the holy month.

The chief minister’s comprehensive agenda underscored a multifaceted approach designed to alleviate socio-economic hardships while fostering a sense of unity and compassion within the province.
