ISLAMABAD (Pakistani Armed Forces have carried out air strikes inside Afghanistan since early Friday, targeting key military installations of the Afghan Taliban regime. Attaullah Tarar, Pakistan’s Information Minister, reported that two brigade headquarters were destroyed in Kabul, while one corps headquarter and one brigade headquarter fell to Pakistani airstrikes in Kandahar. In addition, an ammunition depot and logistics base have been destroyed in Kandahar, along with a corp headquarter in Paktia.

Tarar’s update on X suggests that Pakistan’s air strikes are still ongoing and continue to inflict heavy losses on the Taliban forces. He mentioned that 27 Taliban posts have been destroyed and nine have been captured so far.

According to Tarar, these airstrikes resulted in the destruction of two corps headquarters, three brigade headquarters, three battalion headquarters, and two sector headquarters. They also damaged two ammunition depots and a logistics base. More than 80 tanks, artillery guns, and armored personnel carriers were reportedly destroyed in the operations, which Tarar described as Pakistan’s “immediate and effective response” to Taliban aggression.

Tarar emphasized that these strikes followed an unprovoked Afghan Taliban firing along the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan. He stated that “Unprovoked firing by the Afghan Taliban regime is being and will continue to be responded to in a strong and effective manner.”

The minister also criticized the Taliban for spreading false narratives after suffering heavy losses, pointing out that fabricated claims were amplified on social media platforms in an attempt to mislead public opinion.

Tarar further underscored Pakistan’s resolve, stating that the armed forces remain unfazed by such propaganda. Instead, they are fully focused on safeguarding national security.
