
Aliya Hamza, Punjab Chief Organizer of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was arrested in Lahore on Wednesday. She had traveled to the city for Eid celebrations when police took her into custody.
Hamza is wanted by authorities in multiple cases. A court sentenced her to ten years in jail for a riot case on May 9 and five years for other cases involving arson at Shadman Police Station. The trial included 19 accused, including Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Yasmin Rashid, Omar Sarfraz Cheema, Ejaz Chaudhry, Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed, Sanam Javed, and herself.
