Apple Invests $30B in Broadcom for US Chipmaking Push

Apple is set to expand its partnership with Broadcom under a multi-year deal projected to exceed $30 billion. This significant shift marks Apple’s largest domestic manufacturing commitment to date.

The agreement will lead to the production of over 15 million US-made chips, including a $1.5 billion expansion of Broadcom’s facility in Fort Collins.

Broadcom has been supplying Apple with connectivity components; however, this new deal intensifies their collaboration around US-made custom silicon. The company revealed its cooperation with Apple for developing and supplying custom ASIC silicon products.

Tim Cook oversees the agreement as part of his substantial investment in American manufacturing, aligning with one of the largest components of Apple’s $600 billion four-year US investment plan launched in 2025.

In an official release, Apple stated that the components built in Fort Collins are crucial for performance and connectivity, meeting consumers’ expectations. Cook expressed gratitude to Trump and his administration for their support on this project.
