Barry Keoghan Battls Online Bullying, Reduces Social Media Presence

Barry Keoghan, 33-year-old Peaky Blinders star, spoke about online bullying affecting him on SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up. He stated he removed himself from social media but still checks events to see public reception.

Keoghan expressed concern over the “nasty side” of social media and its impact on his art. He revealed that hiding away due to vitriolic comments is a problem, as it affects his desire to be on screen.

In 2024, Keoghan deactivated Instagram amid speculation about his split from Sabrina Carpenter. On X, he criticized “lies, hatred” and “disgusting commentary,” stating he can only take so much online abuse before his name was dragged across the internet in ways he usually doesn’t respond to.
