
Billy Idol Reflects on Past Behavior and Possible ADHD Diagnosis
Billy Idol has been contemplating his past behavior and is questioning if he may have undiagnosed ADHD. The singer’s years of excess and struggles with addiction are detailed in the new documentary, Billy Idol Should Be Dead.
In a candid interview with The Times newspaper, Idol revealed that he might have an ADHD problem too. He suggested this could be one reason for his long-term substance abuse, as drugs may help focus on tasks he finds interesting, like music.
Idol has been prescribed Ritalin to manage ADHD symptoms but stopped treatment quickly, seeing it more as a suppression tool than a sustainable solution. “It’s just to control them,” he said.
