Alex Duong, renowned comedian and actor, died at 42 after battling cancer for a year.
Hilarie Steele, a close friend of the comedian, announced his death to TMZ.
Steele revealed that Duong went into septic shock on Friday night and passed away at 11 am Saturday in California’s medical center. He was surrounded by family.
Diagnosed with alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare tissue cancer affecting muscles of the limbs, head, neck, and abdomen, according to Cleveland Clinic.
Comedian Taylor Williamson expressed his devastation over Alex’s loss. “Such a beautiful soul who would tell me how much he loved his daughter Everest… A good man who always had positive energy even in the hardest times.”
Another fellow artist, comedian Mike Lawrence, paid tribute saying, “He was a funny comic, great roast battler, and rarest of all, a gentle, sweet person that truly loved making people laugh just for the pure sake of it.”
