The French government has issued a stern condemnation of the Iranian air assault on Israel, with French Foreign Minister Stéphane Séjourné stating that Iran’s actions have breached a new threshold of destabilization and risk escalating military tensions. Speaking on Saturday, Séjourné emphasized the unprecedented nature of Iran’s aggression.
“taking such an unprecedented action, Iran has crossed a new threshold with regard to its destabilizing activities and is risking a potential military escalation.” Séjourné said.
Similarly, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock conveyed Germany’s strong condemnation of the ongoing attack, warning of the potential regional chaos it could unleash. Baerbock urged Iran and its proxies to cease the assault immediately, extending full solidarity to Israel during this tumultuous period.
Echoing the sentiment, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau unequivocally denounced Iran’s airborne attacks on Israel, expressing solidarity with the nation. Trudeau highlighted the destabilizing impact of Iran’s recent actions, emphasizing the need for lasting peace in the region. He reaffirmed Canada’s support for Israel’s right to defend itself against such aggression.
“We stand with Israel. After supporting Hamas’ brutal October 7 attack, the Iranian regime’s latest actions will further destabilize the region and make lasting peace more difficult,” Trudeau said in a statement.
“We support Israel’s right to defend itself and its people from these attacks.”
