In an effort to bolster competitive and inclusive market environments across Pakistan, the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) and the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This significant agreement aims to strengthen collaboration in research, policy analysis, and evidence-based recommendations that will support better decision-making.
The signing ceremony was graced by key figures from both organizations. Dr Kabir Ahmed Sidhu, Chairman CCP, joined forces with Dr Abid Qaiyum Suleri, Deputy Director SDPI, and other senior officials for the occasion. The MoU was ceremoniously signed by Salman Amin, a Member of CCP, and Dr Sajid Amin Javed, Deputy Executive Director of SDPI.
Dr Kabir Ahmed Sidhu highlighted that this partnership would enable both institutions to collaboratively scrutinize legal and regulatory frameworks, ensuring they remain relevant in today’s market landscape. He stressed the importance of aligning these frameworks with current economic conditions to benefit all stakeholders—consumers, businesses, and the economy at large. Dr Sidhu emphasized a commitment to free markets that are neither dominated by monopolistic nor oligopolistic practices.
