BEIJING – China has introduced a significant move in its diplomatic strategy by extending visa-free entry benefits to UK and Canadian citizens until December 31st. This move comes amid ongoing high-level exchanges between Beijing and London, as well as Ottawa.

Foreign Ministry officials in Beijing confirmed that from this week onwards, both countries’ ordinary passport holders will be permitted to visit China for up to 30 days without prior visa approval. The decision is seen as a direct result of the recent high-level visits by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney to China where they met with President Xi Jinping and other senior Chinese officials.
