Cold wave has tightened its grip across the country, with freezing conditions severely affecting northern regions.
In Kalam, Swat, recent snowfall after a prolonged dry spell has caused temperatures to plummet further. The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted rain and snowfall in Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir over the next 24 hours.
Karachi is also feeling the chill, with temperatures expected to drop to single digits by January 4.
Skardu and Gupis recorded the coldest temperatures yesterday, with the mercury plunging to a freezing -9 degrees Celsius, marking some of the season’s lowest readings.
