Cuba’s President Says No Threat, Denies Aggressive Plans Amid Drone Report

Washington – Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez reiterated his country’s non-threatening stance towards the United States, dismissing reports of military drones on the island. According to Axios, Cuba reportedly possesses around 300 military drones and has allegedly discussed plans to strike U.S. military bases in Guantanamo Bay or Florida.

Díaz-Canel condemned “threats of military aggression against Cuba from the world’s greatest power” as an international crime that would trigger a bloodbath with incalculable consequences. He affirmed, “Cuba poses no threat and has never had aggressive plans or intentions against any country.”

The Trump administration is considering military intervention in Cuba following Venezuela’s situation, alongside financial sanctions aimed at weakening the communist party leadership. However, these sanctions have not crippled Cuba’s leadership.

CIA Director John Ratcliffe recently visited Havana, urging “fundamental changes” and warning that Cuba can no longer serve as a safe haven for adversaries.
