The Customs Enforcement Division D.I. Khan, operating under the Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, Peshawar, has seized smuggled goods and carrier vehicles valued at Rs. 66 million during a series of major anti-smuggling operations.
According to officials, the confiscated goods—estimated at Rs. 48.5 million—include foreign-origin cigarettes of various brands, betel nuts, poppy seeds, coffee, milk cream, auto parts, submersible motors, men’s clothing, tyres, monosodium glutamate (MSG) spice, inverters, and a non-duty-paid Toyota Prius vehicle.
In addition, customs authorities also impounded vehicles used to transport the contraband. These included one Mazda truck, two Bedford trucks, one pickup, and one Suzuki pickup, with a combined estimated value of Rs. 17.5 million.
All seized goods and vehicles have been taken into custody, and legal proceedings have been initiated under the relevant provisions of the Customs Act, 1969. Further investigations are currently underway.
The Federal Board of Revenue reaffirmed its commitment to curbing smuggling, protecting legitimate trade, and safeguarding national revenue through sustained enforcement and intelligence-led operations.
