Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar engaged in a telephonic conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on Saturday regarding the evolving regional landscape. This dialogue was announced by the Foreign Office (FO), who emphasized that the two leaders discussed forthcoming international engagements and committed to keeping their communications active.

This marked the second encounter between the officials within a single week, following an earlier conversation Dar had with the Saudi minister after arriving in Beijing last month. The FO detailed that the call centered on recent regional developments.

The relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia is multi-dimensional, encompassing strategic military cooperation, shared economic interests, and Islamic ties. Historically, Riyadh has provided crucial financial aid and energy resources to Islamabad, a significant contributor to their mutual defense pact signed in September 2025.

Under the terms of this agreement, an assault on either nation would be considered as an attack on both. This bilateral relationship underscores Pakistan’s strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia, a cornerstone for regional stability and economic cooperation.
