Dawlance, a leading home appliances manufacturer in Pakistan, has implemented solar energy systems at its manufacturing plants in Karachi, investing over €1.1 million in the shift to renewable power. The new installations, celebrated in a launch ceremony attended by senior executives from Dawlance and Beko, mark a pivotal step in Dawlance’s “Progress Today – Preserve Tomorrow” initiative. The solar panels are expected to generate around 3 million kilowatt-hours of electricity each year, covering approximately 27% of the factories’ annual energy needs.

At the launch, Mr. Can Dinçer, Beko’s Chief Commercial Officer for Türkiye and Southern Asia, highlighted this project as part of Beko’s global environmental strategy. “Aligned with our vision, ‘Respecting the World, Respected Worldwide,’ we’re committed to reducing our carbon footprint with a goal of net-zero emissions by 2050,” he stated. “With 64% of our 2023 operations powered by green energy, we aim for all facilities to use 100% renewable energy by 2030. Dawlance’s solar initiative supports both our sustainability goals and Pakistan’s clean energy shift.”

We’re committed to leading Pakistan’s industry toward greener practices, and our Hyderabad plant will also transition to solar by November.”

This investment underlines Dawlance’s dedication to reducing fossil fuel emissions, lowering energy costs, and advancing sustainable manufacturing practices in Pakistan, contributing to a cleaner future for the region.
