
Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a National Economic Council meeting on Friday. The council approved development priorities across all provinces and regions, with emphasis on national initiatives and infrastructure/social sector needs.
Key projects included ML-1 design, Havelian Dry Port, Lowari Tunnel access works, Thar Coal Rail Connectivity, Kachhi Canal, irrigation improvements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Jinnah Hospital Islamabad, Sindh Human Capital 1000 Days Programme, flood rehabilitation support in Sindh, and Diamer Basha Dam arrangements.
Dar reaffirmed the government’s commitment to infrastructure development, improved public services, regional balance, and long-term economic resilience. The meeting was attended by Finance Minister, Planning & Development Minister, Punjab Planning Minister, Irrigation Sindh Minister, Tariq Bajwa SAPM, EAD Secretary, Health Secretary, Water Secretary, Planning Secretary, and senior officials from relevant ministries.
