
K-Electric’s board of directors announced on Friday the appointment of Adeeb Ahmad as the utility’s interim Chief Executive Officer. Ahmad brings more than three decades of experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors across MENA, Turkey, CIS, Southeast Asia, and Pakistan.
Ahmad’s career includes leadership in private equity management, mergers and acquisitions, and transformational initiatives. He has also held senior advisory roles with investment banking institutions in the GCC and Pakistan, spearheading numerous privatization, M&A, and capital-raising efforts. Recently, he served as CEO of Hascol Petroleum Limited and as Senior Advisor to the CEO and Deputy CEO-Designate at the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD) in Saudi Arabia.
A graduate of the London School of Economics with an M.Sc. and holder of an MBA from IBA Karachi, Ahmad has been a director on K-Electric’s board since July 2019, succeeding Frederic Sicre. During his tenure on the board, he contributed to strategic oversight and corporate governance of the company, which operates an installed generation capacity of approximately 1,875 MW and manages a 1,354-kilometer transmission network.
