To advance Pakistan’s Electric Vehicles (EV) Policy, the government has announced the installation of EV charging stations at every petrol pump in Islamabad.
Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain made this decision during the fourth meeting on the EV Policy, directing the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to ensure compliance. He commended the CDA’s progress and revealed plans to provide 120 top Federal Board students with free electric bikes, alongside offering 39,000 electric bikes and 19,000 electric rickshaws through subsidized loans.
The meeting also emphasized establishing 40 charging stations along motorways and national highways and ensuring transparency through digitalization.
Minister Hussain reaffirmed the Prime Minister’s vision to make Islamabad a model city for EV adoption. An official announcement regarding the EV Policy is expected soon.
