Kamran Qureshi, father of Armaghan, the prime suspect in the Mustafa Amir murder case, has reportedly issued threats against public prosecutor Zulfiqar Ali Arain.
The incident occurred after Armaghan’s appearance before the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) jail. According to reports, Qureshi warned Arain, stating, “I will deal with you people.”
Despite the prosecutor notifying the authorities, law enforcement has yet to take action against Qureshi.
The court had earlier permitted Armaghan to meet his parents inside the courtroom following a request from his legal team. Meanwhile, Armaghan remains in police custody under physical remand, and the investigating officer has reported the alleged threat to senior officials.
FIA Report Exposes Fraud Links
On March 12, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cyber Crime Wing completed an initial report after questioning Armaghan. The findings reveal his admission of involvement in fraudulent activities at a call center and cryptocurrency transactions. The report has been forwarded to the Cyber Crime Headquarters for further action.
Authorities are also set to reassess potential drug trafficking links in the case. The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Interior has scheduled a subcommittee meeting on March 17 in Islamabad, where Sindh’s Inspector General of Police (IGP) and other senior officials will present updates on the investigation.
Armaghan Confesses to Threatening Lawyer
On March 13, Armaghan admitted to threatening the lawyer representing cases against him. The police submitted an interim charge sheet to the court, confirming his confession. The report stated that advocate Saif Jatoi, representing the complainant, had been handling cases against Armaghan at Gizri and Darakhshan police stations.
