The Frontier Constabulary in Balochistan’s North region successfully intercepted an attempted Iranian diesel smuggling operation near the border between Balochistan and Sindh on Sunday.

Reports indicate that smugglers were transporting 379,000 liters of Iranian diesel concealed in at least 9 trucks. Prompt action by the FC Balochistan prevented the illegal transfer of diesel into Pakistan.

Following legal procedures, the confiscated diesel has been handed over to the customs department for further action.

The Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (PPDA) revealed that up to 35% of diesel sold in Pakistan is smuggled illegally from Iran. While fuel smuggling was previously concentrated in Balochistan, it has now expanded to other parts of the country, according to the association.
