A female teacher was shot dead on Thursday morning outside Allahabad Girls High School in Sibi, police confirmed, triggering widespread shock and grief in the area.
According to police officials and eyewitnesses, the incident occurred near the school’s main gate when unidentified assailants riding a motorcycle opened fire at close range. The teacher sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was rushed to CMH Sibi, where she later succumbed to her injuries. The attackers fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
Authorities said the victim belonged to a well-known tribal family in Sibi. She was the sister of Assistant Commissioner Bakhtiarabad Malik Bahadur Bangulzai, Malik Sajid Bangulzai, and Malik Majid Bangulzai, the headmaster of Allahabad High School. She was married to Malik Faheem Bangulzai and was also closely related to prominent tribal and political figure Sardar Noor Ahmed Bangulzai.
The killing has heightened fear in the locality and prompted strong condemnation from teachers’ associations and civil society groups. Residents have announced peaceful protests, demanding the swift arrest of those responsible and a transparent investigation.
Police said investigators are examining two preliminary possibilities: that the teacher was deliberately targeted, or that she may have been struck unintentionally during an attack aimed at another individual travelling in a nearby vehicle.
Officials stated that efforts are underway to identify the attackers using available evidence and to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
