Former ANP Central Secretary of Information Senator Zahid Khan officially joined Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) at a grand gathering in Odigram, Lower Dir. Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and SAFRON, Engineer Amir Muqam, who is also PML-N’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President, welcomed Zahid Khan and his followers, marking the occasion as a strategic win for the party.

The public event saw a large convoy of supporters escorting Muqam from Chakdara to the ceremony, where party members gathered in force. Addressing the crowd, Muqam criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), accusing it of driving the country towards economic instability and pledging that under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership, Pakistan will continue to move towards stability. He emphasized that economic indicators are on an upward trend, with interest rates dropping from 23% to 15% and inflation significantly reduced. He further condemned the PTI-led provincial administration, pointing out unpaid salaries for teachers and other government employees.

In his speech, Muqam highlighted PML-N’s efforts in supporting the flood-hit Malakand Division with federal tax exemptions, while criticizing PTI’s failure to improve infrastructure in the region despite 12 years in power. He assured the crowd that gas supplies across the division will be restored swiftly once regulatory barriers are removed.

Senator Zahid Khan, a former ANP leader, expressed his appreciation for the leadership and dedication of Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif, and Muqam. After a long political journey with ANP, he announced his commitment to PML-N’s vision for progress and stability.

PML-N leaders from across Malakand Division attended the event, including Wajid Ali Khan, Malik Jehanzaib, and other prominent figures, celebrating Zahid Khan’s entry as a boost to the party’s standing both locally and nationally.
