Karachi: Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh, President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), announced today that the Pakistan-EU Business Forum is now accepting applications for new membership and renewal of existing memberships until February 16, 2026.
Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh highlighted that the ongoing collaboration between Pakistan and the European Union has seen positive growth in trade volumes. In fiscal year 2025, Pakistani exports to Europe reached approximately $8.86 billion—up significantly from the previous year’s figures. This recovery demonstrates a strong economic partnership with the EU, particularly in sectors such as textiles, apparel, leather goods, agro and food products, surgical instruments, and light engineering.
The President emphasized that this growth is driven by rising demand across European markets, including Western, Eastern, and Northern Europe. To support Pakistani businesses more effectively, FPCCI has established the Pakistan-EU Business Forum as a dedicated platform to bolster engagement with EU countries and facilitate market access. The forum will also expand its outreach into Eastern European nations where there’s been an increasing interest in purchasing goods from Pakistan.
In line with these opportunities, President Ikram Sheikh underscored FPCCI’s commitment to fostering stronger ties between Pakistani businesses and the EU by maintaining structured interactions with Missions in European capitals as well as those of European countries in Pakistan. The forum will also facilitate enhanced business networking, policy coordination, market access support, and trade promotion initiatives.
FPCCI emphasized that the forum’s activities will focus on capacity-building for small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), promoting diversification of export products, increasing awareness about trade facilitation processes, and leveraging EU’s Generalized System of Preferences Plus (GSP+) preferential access arrangements to unlock new opportunities for Pakistani exporters.
Membership in the Pakistan-EU Business Forum is open to CEOs, Managing Directors, Directors, General Managers, Proprietors, as well as members of FPCCI Trade Bodies and Business Councils from EU countries. The President encouraged existing members to renew their membership and invited professionals and business leaders interested in new memberships to apply by submitting a prescribed application form along with required documents by February 16, 2026.
FPCCI reaffirmed its commitment to deepening trade relations between Pakistan and the EU and urged all stakeholders within the business community to actively participate in forum activities. By doing so, they can capitalize on burgeoning opportunities within European markets.
