A German tourist has passed away following a snakebite incident during a show at a hotel in Hurghada, Egypt. The 57-year-old man from Unterallgaeu district in Bavaria was watching the snake-charming performance when one of the cobras crawled into his pants and bit him.

The bite led to clear signs of poisoning, requiring immediate resuscitation before hospitalization. Despite medical intervention, he later succumbed to the effects of the venomous bite.

German authorities are currently investigating the incident, with toxicology test results pending. Egyptian officials were not informed about this specific event by local sources. Globally, around 5.4 million snake bites occur annually, resulting in approximately 138,000 fatalities, primarily concentrated in India.
