In Rawalpindi, Dunya News reported today on the formation of a panel for Imran Khan’s medical checkup, underscoring his continued support from the government. While the medical team is composed of respected doctors like Dr Amjad and Dr Nadeem Qureshi, it excludes personal physicians who have long accompanied him.

Khan will be transferred to a hospital upon recommendation by this independent panel. Special attention has been given to ensure his safety as his health remains in peril. A close relative has been designated to act as the special representative for the transfer process, navigating the complex logistics of securing medical care during an incarceration period that stretches over months.

The Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, confirmed the government’s decision to facilitate Khan’s treatment and formation of the panel. He emphasized humanitarian considerations rather than politics in deciding his healthcare needs. The PML-N-led federal administration has assured that PTI founder Imran Khan will receive urgent medical attention for his deteriorating right eye condition.

Information Minister Attaullah Tarar highlighted the shift from local facilities to a specialized medical institution overseen by leading ophthalmologists, guaranteeing continued and effective treatment for Khan. He urged the public to avoid speculation about Khan’s current situation, focusing instead on supporting him through this critical health challenge.
