Governor Sindh Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori has announced a major breakthrough in international employment opportunities for Pakistani youth, revealing that 40,000 high-paying jobs in Artificial Intelligence (AI) will soon be available in the United States.
Speaking at a joint press conference alongside Federal Minister for Education Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui at the Governor House, Tessori said that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Governor’s Initiatives and Cyber Range Solutions, paving the way for Pakistani students to work in the U.S. AI sector. Successful candidates will be offered salaries ranging between $90,000 to $130,000 per year, and initial expenses will be covered by the company.
The governor described it as a historic development for Pakistan’s IT landscape. “The sapling planted a year ago at the Governor House has now become a fruit-bearing tree,” Tessori said, referring to the IT courses launched under his initiative. He noted that the company will offer a free six-month training course, followed by a test. Those who pass will receive employment and certification.
The program is aimed at addressing AI talent shortages in the U.S. while opening up global opportunities for Pakistani youth. Over 550,000 students applied for the initial IT training program; 50,000 qualified and have been undergoing advanced training for the past 11 months. Tessori revealed that the AI course will officially begin next week and that this opportunity reflects the hard work and progress made by the Governor’s Initiative over the past year.
He stressed the urgent need for an overhaul of Pakistan’s education system, stating: “We are four to five years behind the world in education. Massive curriculum reform is necessary.” Tessori also highlighted that internationally recognized IT courses from the U.S. and UK are now being offered at the Governor House.
He reiterated his commitment to expanding the program across all of Sindh. Federal Minister Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui praised the initiative, stating: “The Governor had no official mandate or promise for this, only the will to deliver. And he has.” He further added that for the first time in 77 years, Pakistan is seeing new campuses of top universities being built in Sindh. “The Governor House has become a symbol of transformation,” Siddiqui remarked. Both leaders emphasized that the initiative would turn Karachi into a hub of education and opportunity for all ethnic communities, calling the city “Mini Pakistan.”
