Government Increases Petrol Prices Amid Global Market Volatility
Petrol prices have surged by Rs6.51 per litre, reaching Rs399.86 per litre according to a recent notification from the Petroleum Division.
High-speed diesel (HSD) has seen an even sharper increase of Rs19.39 per litre, with the new price set at Rs399.58 per litre.
The latest hike is attributed to ongoing volatility in global oil markets and rising import costs, adding pressure on consumers already dealing with inflation.
Earlier, the Petroleum Division denied reports suggesting a shutdown of petrol pumps due to fuel shortages, calling such claims “baseless” and assuring uninterrupted supply of petroleum products nationwide.
