The Faculty of Eastern Medicine at Hamdard University recently held a one-day free medical camp at Uth Palan Gabol Goth supervised by Hakim Amjad Ismail, providing healthcare services to the underprivileged local community. Hamdard Foundation Pakistan contributed to the event by including its free mobile dispensary, ensuring the distribution of free medicines to patients. Additionally, Hamdard Laboratories distributed ‘Rooh Afza GO’ to the residents of the village.

The Hamdard team, comprising researchers, physicians, and students, led by Dean of the Faculty of Eastern Medicine, Dr. Professor Syed Faisal Haider Zaidi, Assistant Professors Hakim Rais Khan and Hakim Amjad Chishti, Lecturer Tabiba Huma Saeed, and Nutritionist Lecturer Hajra Ilyas, distributed a significant number of ration bags among the deserving residents of the village. These bags contained essential items sufficient to support a family of four to five for a month and were distributed with respect and dignity.

In preparation for winter, the team also provided warm jackets, mufflers, and closed shoes in large quantities for both children and adults to help them combat the cold. Additionally, hundreds of ready-to-serve food packets were distributed among the villagers.

A free dry cupping therapy service was offered throughout the day, from morning to evening, as part of the medical camp. Moreover, the team included a nutritionist from Hamdard University’s Department of Nutrition, who conducted sessions to educate women about the importance of a balanced diet and proper nutrition. Since women play a central role in preparing meals for their families, raising their awareness about nutrition contributes positively to the overall health of the family.
