Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Exit Shatters Royal Relationships

In an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex laid bare their grievances toward the UK’s royal institution. Since then, they have severed all ties to the monarchy, leaving a lasting impact on the institution and its royals.

A senior royal expert, Jennie Bond, told the Mirror that this interview served as a significant catalyst for an irreparable rift between Harry and his brother, Prince William. It also deepened their estrangement from King Charles III and Queen Elizabeth II.

Bond explained: “The interview exposed underlying tensions within the family regarding issues of racism and racial sensitivity. This breach in trust will be difficult to mend, and it has exacerbated divisions within the royal circle.”

These revelations have had profound implications for future endeavors by Harry and Meghan. If they seek approval from either Prince William or King Charles III, many people would likely choose the latter due to the prestige associated with such a relationship.

The expert noted that both individuals felt compelled to speak their minds publicly about long-held frustrations and dissatisfaction. This “spectacular blood-letting” provided them with catharsis but also set them on a path toward isolation from their royal family, a decision viewed as courageous yet risky by many observers.
