ICC Declares Sahibzada Farhan ICC Men’s Player of the Month for February
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan as the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for February 2026. This accolade was awarded to him following his exceptional performance at the recent T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka.
Farhan, a right-hander, emerged as the highest run-getter of the marquee event with an impressive tally of 383 runs across seven matches (six innings) at an average of 76.60. His record-breaking campaign included two hundreds and two fifties, solidifying his status in cricket history.
The ICC highlighted Farhan’s strike rate of 160.25 during this tournament, which surpassed the longstanding Virat Kohli’s record for most runs scored in a single edition of the T20 World Cup. This achievement makes him the first male Pakistani player to receive such recognition since Haris Rauf in November 2024.
Moreover, Farhan was the sole Pakistani participant included in the 12-member Team of the Tournament for the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup. His performance not only earned him the Player of the Month award but also elevated his status on the Men’s T20I Batting rankings to a second-place position after scoring an outstanding ton against Sri Lanka.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi congratulated Farhan, praising his hard work and professional approach. He expressed hope that Farhan will continue to maintain this level of performance in future matches.
