The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has suspended Senior Civil Judge Inamullah after he issued a stay order despite the Supreme Court’s directive to demolish the Monal Restaurant. The suspension order was issued by Chief Justice Aamer Farooq, who reassigned Inamullah to the position of Officer on Special Duty (OSD).
Judge Inamullah has been instructed to report to the High Court immediately, while an inquiry has been launched against him. According to sources within the court, Chief Justice Aamer Farooq summoned the Senior Civil Judge to the High Court earlier today to address the matter.
The suspension follows the judge’s controversial decision to block the demolition of the Monal Restaurant, which the Supreme Court had ordered to be demolished due to its location on protected land.
