Both former Prime Minister Imran Khan and former Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi have each been sentenced to 10 years in prison in connection with the cipher case.

Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqernain of the Official Secrets Act special court delivered the verdict after conducting proceedings in Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi. The judge asserted that the prosecution presented ample concrete evidence to substantiate the charges.

During the sentencing, both accused were present in the courtroom and declined to sign the statement questionnaire under Section 342 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC). They insisted on the presence of their lawyers before signing any documents.
