Investigators are intensifying their search and arrests to dismantle the remaining elements of a complex attack that has gripped Pakistan’s national consciousness. In an operation launched in response to the deadly suicide bombing at Islamabad’s Imambargah Qasr-i-Khadijatul Kubra on Friday, law enforcement officials have made a series of noteworthy arrests.

According to officials, key figures close to the attacker—his brother-in-law and his brother—in addition to a facilitator associated with the attack were apprehended. Security forces also killed the facilitator in Nowshera, acting as part of a coordinated crackdown across Pakistan’s major cities.

The arrest of Yasir’s mother was identified by investigators as crucial for building a clearer picture of the terrorist network. It revealed vital information about her son’s movements and sources of support prior to the attack, providing authorities with critical insights that could aid in neutralizing the remaining elements of the extremist cell.

As part of these operations, security forces launched geo-fencing, analyzed CCTV footage, and conducted raids in multiple cities, including Nowshera. Authorities emphasized that all involved parties in planning or supporting this attack would be brought to justice, ensuring no remnants of the terror network remained unchallenged.

The funeral prayers held for victims on Saturday were a somber reminder of the gravity of the incident. Attendees included government officials such as Sardar Yousaf and Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, alongside community members and political figures. Authorities have cautioned that the death toll might still rise due to several injured patients remaining in critical condition.

Eyewitnesses described a tense standoff between the suicide bomber and volunteer guards at the entrance before detonation. The attack had widespread ramifications across the nation, highlighting the security challenges faced by Pakistan’s authorities.

With each arrest and lead developed, investigators are closing in on the network’s core while also addressing public concerns through transparent communication. As operations continue, officials reaffirm their commitment to bringing all responsible parties to justice, ensuring a safer future for Pakistanis.
