Iran’s International Passenger Flights Resume
Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport has restarted international passenger flights following a prolonged suspension due to conflict. According to Press TV, operations resumed on Saturday after more than 50 days of disruption.
Initial routes include services to Istanbul and Muscat, with plans for gradual expansion. Cargo operations had continued during the closure period.
Ramin Kashed Azar, CEO of Imam Khomeini Airport City, confirmed that return flights to Istanbul and Muscat have been approved. He added that all airport infrastructure is fully operational without technical obstacles.
Iran Air has also announced the restoration of domestic flights, starting with Tehran–Mashhad route. Limited services from Mehrabad Airport are set for the weekend, with broader rollout planned.
The resumption follows a ceasefire agreement after heightened tensions following strikes on February 28. Diplomatic efforts in Islamabad have yet to produce a final settlement, though the truce remains in place for now.
