Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi has arrived in Islamabad for a series of high-level meetings aimed at reinforcing Pakistan-Iran relations and expanding collaboration across a broad range of sectors.
He was welcomed at the airport by Additional Secretary for West Asia Syed Asad Gillani, alongside Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan and senior government officials.
During his visit, Araghchi is scheduled to meet with President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar. Discussions are expected to centre on economic cooperation, cross-border issues, and shared geopolitical interests.
In a statement, Pakistan’s Foreign Office described the visit as a reflection of the “deep-rooted and strong relationship” between the two neighbours, adding that both sides remain committed to strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual benefit.
The agenda also includes an exchange of views on key regional and international developments, with the aim of aligning diplomatic efforts and enhancing policy coordination on broader security and economic challenges.
