Israel Strikes South Beirut; Captures Two Hezbollah Members

Beirut’s southern suburbs hit by strikes Monday and Tuesday. Israeli military claims two Hezbollah members captured in Lebanon. Earlier strike targeted Iranian Revolutionary Guards’ foreign operations arm.

Smoke seen over Beirut’s suburbs, National News Agency reports series of strikes. Israel announces it will “strike Hezbollah infrastructure in Beirut” after calling for residents to leave the area.

Israeli army says troops identified several armed Hezbollah Radwan Force terrorists planning anti-tank missile fire during weapons locating activity in southern Lebanon. Terrorists surrendered and were apprehended by Israeli forces.

Hezbollah claims over 50 attacks on Israeli troops and bases in northern Israel and southern Lebanon, including UNIFIL headquarters hit in Naqura.

Israeli military issues evacuation warnings for two coastal towns near Tyre. Strike on Hazmieh kills at least one person, according to health ministry. Israeli strike targeted apartment rented by displaced family.

Israel had previously struck area on March 5, killing five people including three Quds Force commanders. Iran accuses Israel of killing four diplomats in attack.

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam tells Al Hadath network that Iran’s Revolutionary Guards are managing the military operation in Lebanon.

Israeli spokesperson Ella Waweya says battle against Hezbollah “has only just begun”. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu vows to continue strikes in Iran and Lebanon.
