Jesse Eisenberg recently opened up about his forthcoming film, The Debut. A musical comedy penned and directed by Eisenberg himself, it boasts an ensemble cast including Julianne Moore, Halle Bailey, Havana Rose Liu, Colton Ryan, Bernadette Peters, Paul Giamatti, Lilli Cooper, and more.
At the Los Angeles premiere of Illumination’s Minions & Monsters on June 28, Eisenberg told PEOPLE magazine that The Debut reflects his own life, particularly the transformation he underwent over the years. “It’s really a movie about my life,” he said. “In 1990, I got into community theater… and it was life-changing and terrifying.”
Eisenberg praised Moore for her performance as Mona Friedman, who transforms from a shy housewife to a zealous method actor in The Debut. The film is set to hit theaters in the United States on December 3, 2026.
