Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Foreign Minister (FM) Ayman Safadi spoke with FM Ishaq Dar on Sunday. They appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role and continued efforts for peace.

The two leaders discussed the evolving regional situation and exchanged views on promoting peace and stability in the region, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Jordan “appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role and continued efforts for peace, dialogue, and regional stability,” the statement said. FM Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promoting constructive engagement among all parties in support of stability and peaceful conflict resolution through diplomacy.

The leaders also reaffirmed strong bilateral relations between Pakistan and Jordan and underscored the importance of continued cooperation at bilateral and multilateral forums.

Both sides agreed to remain in close contact, the statement read.

Dar has received international recognition for his diplomatic leadership as Pakistan has positioned itself at the center of high-stakes mediation efforts during the ongoing conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran.

On April 27, Dar held separate telephonic conversations with foreign ministers of the United Kingdom, Canada, and Egypt, discussing developments regarding the regional situation and emphasizing the importance of diplomacy for peace.

European Union Vice President Kaja Kallas also spoke with Dar and appreciated Pakistan’s continued constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability.

Secretary-General of the United Nations António Guterres and Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam extended their appreciation to Dar for his facilitation of talks between the US and Iran on April 28.
