The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government has called for support from the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F (JUI-F) to address various long-standing provincial issues. The meeting between Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and JUI-F chief Maulana Fazl took place at the party’s central office in Peshawar.
At a joint press conference, Afridi highlighted discussions on provincial rights and resource distribution challenges facing K-P, accusing the federal government of unfair treatment under the National Finance Commission (NFC) framework. He argued that while NFC was intended for equitable resource sharing among provinces, K-P was not receiving its fair share.
Fazl affirmed consensus between both sides on several key issues, emphasizing that the NFC award is a constitutional right and parliamentary approval had been achieved.
