The Sindh Food Authority, led by Director General Agha Fakhar Hussain, has joined hands with the Karachi Association of Sweets and Namco (KASAN) to organize an extensive awareness program focusing on food safety and hygiene.
During the event, Director General Agha Fakhar Hussain reaffirmed the authority’s commitment to ensuring the availability of safe and healthy food across the province. He emphasized the importance of continuous efforts to enhance food safety and hygiene standards through such awareness initiatives.
Prominent figures including KASAN President Sheikh Muhammad Tehseen, Vice President Saqib Ahmed, General Secretary Gulzar Ahmed, and renowned personalities like Mufti Talha Siddique from Jamia Al Rasheed, Dr. Ghafran Saeed from Karachi University’s Department of Food Science, Kokab Iqbal from the Consumer Association of Pakistan, and Shakeel Baig from the Consumer Protection Council were present at the program.
Agha Fakhar Hussain highlighted the Hygiene Ambassadors program initiated by the Sindh Food Authority, which aims to raise awareness among various segments of the population regarding nutrition, food safety, healthy eating habits, and the benefits of a balanced diet. He emphasized the importance of both inspections and awareness programs to ensure adherence to hygiene principles and food safety standards among food businesses.
Sheikh Muhammad Tehseen, President of KASAN, commended the efforts of the Sindh Food Authority in organizing the awareness program. He expressed appreciation for the authority’s dedication to improving food quality, particularly in Karachi, and pledged to disseminate this awareness among all members of the association to ensure the availability of quality products to consumers.
The Sindh Food Authority extended gratitude to the management committee of KASAN and all attendees for their active participation in the program.
