King Charles III maintained his steadfast presence at the helm of royal duties following Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s arrest over allegations of misconduct in public office. On February 19th, Andrew was apprehended from his residence at Sandringham House.

Nonetheless, King Charles proceeded with his schedule unimpeded, resuming his engagements within St. James’s Palace in London shortly after the incident. The monarch hosted a series of meetings including with Emma Aparici Vazquez de Parga, Ambassador for Spain to the Court of St. James’s; Francisco Lima Mena, Ambassador from El Salvador; and Maurice Makoloo, High Commissioner for Kenya.

Queen Camilla also joined her husband in supporting their royal duties by attending an intimate lunchtime concert at Sinfonia Smith Square Hall. There, she met with musicians during a special performance.

The King issued his official statement the day of the arrest: “I have learned with profound concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and the suspicion of misconduct in public office. The legal process will now proceed fully and fairly by the relevant authorities.”

“I have always been resolute that law must take its course, and this is no exception,” King Charles continued. He then emphasized, “As our family and I continue to support Andrew’s investigation, we also maintain our commitment to serving you all diligently.”

This approach underscored how the royal family maintained continuity in their public duties despite personal upheavals, embodying a resilient spirit of service amidst challenges.
