Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has launched the Good Governance Roadmap 2.0, expanding from 362 to 450 initiatives across 10 additional departments. The roadmap includes reforms in governance, infrastructure, environment, healthcare, education and public safety.

Afridi announced that delays in public service delivery will be treated as a serious offence. He directed authorities to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for tourists ahead of the upcoming travel season, with improved facilities and better guidance systems at key destinations.

The provincial government is also working on introducing an e-challan system to streamline vehicle transactions and enable immediate transfer of ownership. Afridi stressed the importance of public awareness campaigns about ongoing reforms, including new digital systems being rolled out.

Environmental priorities are highlighted in the roadmap, with a focus on protecting one million newly planted saplings and expanding forest cover. The transport sector is working on priority projects like the circular railway project and railway expansion to Khyber district and Mardan.

The e-pension system will facilitate faster services for retired employees, while land record services will be extended through mobile units. Traffic management improvements include a camera-based enforcement system and smog monitoring systems. Environmental safeguards are being strengthened with toxic waste and wastewater monitoring systems.

Social protection measures include enforcing maternity benefits for working women and enhancing emergency preparedness through early warning systems and GPS tracking in ambulances and rescue vehicles. The roadmap is already underway in 16 departments, covering over 440 weekly review meetings and more than 2,200 action steps.
